Opening Weekend Video Finally Online

As we tend to be future focused on upcoming stuff, we finally squeezed in to edit down our opening weekend from Jan. Now some six months later, I still remember the difficulty and joy of it all. We were handed keys to the audio and lights about 13 hours before dress rehearsal, so we had a monster last minute of programming lights, yamaha digitial board, etc. As I rewatch this for the first time, I realize how much technical improvements we have made in mix and lighting in the short time we’ve been the room. A world of difference. It is what it was….a gloriously fun weekend after tons of preparation.

We started off lite with something that was highly participatory spoofing the BMG to break down any stereotype that this was a place where you could see a “show” and not actively engage.
We then pitched to the largeness of God with the string quartet and corresponding video and responded with worship. That was the idea. What you see in the video was followed with some high energy worship songs like “My Savior Lives.”
The audio is a simple FOH feed with no multi-tracking so it sounded a bit different in the room. There was zero time for getting a broadcast feed in the turnaround time we had. Life seems much easier now….hahaha.

Jordan - was that you leading? I like the “orange man group” people and really dug the “be still” part.
